Time is flying: we have a cast, and tickets are being sold!

Crowdfunding

Over the weekend we launched our crowdfunding project! We are aiming to raise £5,000 – and if we are lucky, we might raise more than this!

Many people are donating time and effort into producing the Bal Maiden Musical.

However, we have to hire the rehearsal space and the venue for the three performances plus the dress and tech rehearsals; we also need props, sets, costumes and technical equipment, not to mention a few pro musicians.

Already we have had some very generous and heart-warming pledges!

Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Any sharing with family and friends would be more than welcome. If a business donates £50 or more, we will advertise the company on the website and programme.

Other news

Rehearsals are in full swing – Thursday nights the chorus rehearses, on Saturdays the actors strut their stuff with Olivia who has blocked and rehearsed scenes from Act 1. We have had some sessions with a few of the musicians – Simon on the clarinet and Mark playing violin. It has been very exciting hearing the music sung and played for the first time!

We had a constructive meeting at Princess Pavilion looking at the technical side of things – lighting, sound and projection. We have amazing people working with us on the production side – Nathan, Ben and William. Work is progressing on the set and props. Fantastic spalling and cobbing hammers have been made by Neil and we have been to Gwennap pit for inspiration.
