If so, come along and find out more at the auditions at
the Princess Pavilions in Falmouth.

  • Saturday 26th November 2022 from 9am to 1pm
  • Saturday 3rd December from 9am to 1pm

The auditions will be fun and informal and will give participants an opportunity to find out more about the musical and how they might like to be involved. There are solo roles for characters aged from 7 years to 70 but we will also need a chorus of singers and dancers AND musicians! We will also need a team to help with backstage including costume makers, lighting, set making, catering and more!

About the audition day:

The audition format will be the same for every Saturday regardless of whether you have opted for Group 1 or 2:

  • Warm Ups
  • Song: A Million Dreams or The Miners Song
  • Small group work on dialogue from Bal Maiden Musical
  • Song 2: A Million Dreams or The Miners Song
  • Final questions

We are presenting the auditions in a workshop style. So in a group we will start off with some fun warm up activities, both physical and vocal. After this we will ask the group to sing one of the two songs we have chosen for the auditions.

Songs for the Audition:

These songs are: A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman and The Miners’ Song which is from the Bal Maiden Musical.

This YouTube link to A Million Dreams has the lyrics for you to sing along too and practise with the audio recording from the movie.!

You can find a lyric sheet of The Miners’ Song which you can download and an audio recording below so you can have a listen and try it out before the audition date and get to know it.

After the song we will split you into smaller groups where you will have a chance to read through a section of dialogue from the musical with some other performers. After about 10 to 15 minutes you will be given an opportunity to present this to the rest of the group and the directors. After all the groups have presented their material, we will sing through the other song. At the end of the workshop there will be an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the musical including the music, the story, rehearsal days and times, costumes, staging, lighting, props and anything else!
